What can I do with Afterglade?

How do I back up my journal or move it to a new iPhone?
Open Settings (top right of Today) and tap Create backup file. The backup is one file with all your entries and original photos and recordings; save it wherever you choose. On the other iPhone, tap Import a backup… and pick that file. Importing only adds entries and never overwrites anything. Backup files aren't encrypted, so keep them somewhere safe. Nothing syncs automatically between devices.
How do I lock Afterglade?
Turn on App Lock in Settings ▸ Privacy. Afterglade then asks for Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode when you come back to it. It's a privacy screen: your journal is protected by iOS data protection, not by extra encryption in the app.
Can I export what I've written?
Yes, always for free. In Settings ▸ Export you can export everything you've written as a PDF or a text file, or choose exactly which entries to include. Voice recordings are included in backup files, not in text exports. Sample content is never exported.
Will a reminder show what I wrote?
No. Reminders only appear if you turn them on (for a contact pause or a boundary check-in), and they never include names or draft text. With Discreet notifications on (the default), they don't mention a breakup at all.
Where can I find help if I'm not okay?
Open Settings ▸ Support resources for emergency numbers, crisis lines in the US, UK and Ireland, and a link to find a helpline in your country. Afterglade is a private journal, not a crisis or therapy service.
Do I need an account?
No. Afterglade works without signing in.
Where is my data kept?
On your device. We don’t have a copy, so we can’t recover it if you delete the app; keep your device backed up.
How do I restore my purchases?
Settings (top right of Today) ▸ Ownership ▸ Restore purchases, and on the unlock screen. Use the same Apple Account you bought with. If your purchase still doesn’t appear, email us.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple: request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I delete my data?
Deleting Afterglade from your device removes what it keeps in its own storage. If you've bought something, a random purchase identifier that the app keeps in the iOS Keychain can stay on the device after the app is deleted, so your purchases can be matched again; it doesn't identify you.
